Nitibha Kaul (aka Nitiva Kaul) is an Indian reality TV show celebrity, model and an IT and business professional based in Delhi, India. Kaul came to media limelight in October 2016, after she was chosen as a contestant for season 10 version of India’s popular reality show Bigg Boss.

It was reported that Kaul left a high-profile and lucrative job at Google India to join the reality TV show. Many prominent media outlets in India reported her story when she was declared a contestant for the show.

Kaul’s role on Bigg Boss 10 was initially praised by many in India and abroad. However, as the show progressed she became more controversial and online hangtags calling for her elimination surfaced on the internet.

Early Life & Education


Nitibha Kaul was born on 4 November 1992 in Delhi, India. She has her family roots in Kashmir and considers herself a Kashmiri girl. Kaul’s father, Sanjay Kaul, is an entrepreneur and her mother, Sulekha Kaul, is a lawyer by profession and works for a reputed law form in Delhi. Kaul has a younger brother, Kartikeya Kaul.

Kaul attended St.Thomas (Girls) School, a private school in New Delhi, as a child and completed a higher secondary education from there. In 2011, she joined the Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (sscbs), a college affiliated to the University of Delhi, and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies.

As a Beauty Contestant & Career at Google

Kaul was interested in modelling and singing since an early age and in 2015 was a contestant for the Miss India Beauty Pageant. Her bid for Miss India wasn’t successful.  Nonetheless, she was placed as 1st runner up in Dabur Miss Rose and was crowned Delhi Times Fresh Face (Delhi).

In June 2014, Kaul joined Google and worked in its office in Gurgaon as an account strategist under Google Marketing Solutions. Her roles at Google India involved customer relationship management, digital advertising and overseeing different aspects of customer services. She left Google in October 2016 to take part in Bigg Boss 10.

Kaul is also the winner of NDTV’s Nokia Your Wish is My App competition. Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra awarded her the winning prize. She remembered that moment, in an interview, as one of the best moments of her life.

Initially, Kaul’s participation in the reality TV programme was picked up by many news outlets in India because she left a job at Google-India to take part in the show. She was also portrayed by many media agencies as an educated and humble contestant. However, as the show progressed, she suffered some backlash because of her fight with fellow contestants, particularly Om Swami. As the show neared its end, fans demanded for her elimination from the show and her initial popularity had significantly dropped.

Personal Life


Nitibha Kaul hasn’t spoken about her romantic ties or an affair with anyone publicly. In an interview, available online on a profile page of Miss India contestants, Kaul says that her hobbies include reading novels, developing computer applications, singing and shopping. She also calls herself a fan of Hugh Jackman and defines love as a distraction no-one should avoid.
