Relationship with Teal Swan

Gicqueau was in a romantic relationship with new-age spiritualist Teal Swan when she was still married to her second husband, Sarbdeep Swan, a British citizen of Indian origin. It has been argued that Teal’s and Sarbdeep’s marriage failed within a short period of time partly because of Gicqueau’s entry into Teal Swan’s life.

In July 2016, Gicqueau and Teal Swan married in a small ceremony. The couple began living in Atenas, Alajuela, Costa Rica, where Gicqueau also began working at Swan’s Philia Centre, a spiritual retreat centre.

Gicqueau’s and Swan’s marriage lasted only for two years as the couple got separated in 2018. The couple were in a relationship for altogether thirty-three months. In a blog post published on 23 May 2018 and titled One thousand and one nights with Teal, Gicqueau detailed his complex and tumultuous romantic relationship with Swan. He accompanied the post with dozens of photos and Instagram posts where the couple appeared.

In the blog post, Gicqueau wrote:

“A couple of years ago, when I fell in love with Teal, I would have given up everything to spend one day with her. My deepest wish was fulfilled and I was not granted one day but one thousand and one. However, unlike Schahriar and Sheherazade who sealed their union for eternity after one thousand and one nights, Teal and I are now separating and taking a different path. Destiny feels cruel when you are asked to leave the woman you love.”

In the same post, he said that he had never loved anyone as much as Teal and that he was never loved back so deeply by anyone as much as she had. Gicqueau also stated that Teal had helped him in a number of ways and that thirty-three months spent with her had felt like thirty-three years. Because of Swan’s influence, Gicqueau wrote, he had lost 30 pounds, had felt healthy like never before, and had been vegetarian and sensitive to animal cruelty issues. Gicqueau further wrote:

Our break-up is so difficult not because we stopped loving each other but because we still love each other though we understand we have to take a different road…When we fall in love, the beloved reflects to us the parts of us to develop. She showed me my light, my potential and my capacity to love. Now that my most magnificent mirror is going away, I am only left to actualize these qualities within myself.”

As of 2022, Gicqueau is single and lives in Nevada, Las Vegas.
