Ayesha Curry (aka Ayesha Alexander Curry) is an American-Canadian celebrity cook, food critic, cookbook author and businesswoman. Ayesha is the wife of famous NBA player, Golden State Warriors point guard, Stephen Curry. Before getting married to Stephen and starting her cooking ventures, Ayesha was a model and an actress.
As of 2022, Ayesha runs a lifestyle website and a YouTube channel named Little Lights of Mine. She mainly uses these platforms to showcase her cooking feats and recipes. On 21 September 2016, she released her much-awaited cookbook The Seasoned Life amidst a cheering crowd in New York.
Curry is also considered a social media star and has a strong and influential presence on different social networking sites. She has more than 7 million followers on Instagram and nearly a million people follow her on Twitter.
Early Life & Education
Ayesha Curry was born Ayesha Alexander on 23 March 1989 in Toronto, Ontario in Canada, and spent most of her childhood there. However, she later moved to the United States with her parents and her sisters, Maria and Janice, and two brothers, Chad and Jaz. Once in the USA, the family settled in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Curry was accepted to join the popular performing arts programme of the York Community High School. After successful completion of her high school degree, she got admitted to Davidson College, a private liberal arts college in Davidson, North Carolina. In 2013, she graduated from Davidson with a degree in business management.

Career as an actress & model
Different media sources claim that Ayesha Curry, indeed, had dreamed of moving to the USA and pursuing a career in acting when she was young. She, in fact, went on to pursue her passion for acting and appeared in shows like Underground Street Flippers (2009) and Love for Sale (2008). In addition to acting, she also did modelling for a short period.  However, she gave up modelling and acting when she started dating Stephen Curry.
Social Media Presence
In 2014, Ayesha Curry started a YouTube channel named Little Lights of Mine and started uploading cooking instruction videos and recipes online. Already a celebrity and wife of a star player, her videos became instantly popular and her fan follower significantly grew in months to follow. She sells her own brand of extra virgin olive oil and, reportedly, donates 10% of profits to the charity No Kid Hungry.
In the summer of 2016, Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina, a celebrity chef, teamed up and opened a pop-up restaurant, named International Smoke at The Mina Test Kitchen, in San Francisco. Reportedly, full reservations for the first month were sold out within an hour.
On 21 September 2016, she released a cookbook titled The Seasoned Life:Â Food, Family, Faith, and the Joy of Eating Well. In the book, she shares her 100 favourite recipes, which include recipes such as Cast Iron Biscuits, Homemade Granola and Stephen’s 5 Ingredient Pasta.Â
Curry has also appeared on the Food Network series Guy’s Grocery Games and has hosted a local TV show called Cookin’ with the Currys.
Personal Life
Ayesha Curry met her would-be husband Stephen Curry at the church she attended. Both very devoted to their Christian faith, the couple started dating in 2008 and married in the summer of 2011, on 30 July 2011, at a rather private ceremony where only closest family members and a few of Stephen’s teammates were present.
The couple has two children. Ayesha gave birth to their first child Riley on 19 July 2012 and their son Ryan Carson was born on 10 July 2015. The Curry family lives in a $3.5M mansion in Orinda, California.
Ayesha claims to be a committed Christian and writes in her blog introduction, “I love the Lord, food, and my family”.
When asked by Cosmopolitan magazine what she loved watching on TV, she said that she was a die-hard fan of How to Get Away With Murder and American Horror Story: Coven.Â
